We love food. A lot. We love cooking it and sharing it with others. We love the comfort it provides and the togetherness it inspires. It’s our passion for food that fuels us at The Kitchen, and it’s you, our awesome patrons, who keep the fire burning.

It’s true — there’s no other community we’d rather share our fresh, from-scratch bistro classics with. Every warm cup of homemade soup, every fresh, artisanal flatbread, every sweet slice of strawberry cake, is made with love from us to you.

Whether you’re here for a relaxing solo lunch between meetings, a celebratory dinner with the whole family, Friday evening cocktails with friends, or for one of our many engaging cooking classes – we’ll always welcome you in with Wichita hospitality and treat you to clean comfort food delights that nourish your body and feed your soul.

Meet the Chef: Natasha Gandhi-Rue – Chef/Owner, The Kitchen

Natasha Gandhi-Rue – Chef/Owner, The KitchenChef Natasha Gandhi-Rue is a formally trained chef from the renowned International Culinary Center (formerly the French Culinary Institute) in New York City. Along with her Culinary degree, she holds a double major from Pennsylvania State University. Originally from New Jersey, Chef Natasha is admittedly a “city girl,” but has been living, cooking, and teaching in Wichita, Kansas, for nearly 20 years and happily calls it home.

In 2016, Natasha and her husband, Scott, opened The Kitchen, an American Bistro restaurant located in Union Station, the heart of downtown Wichita. As both Chef and Owner of The Kitchen, Natasha is responsible not only for menu creation, culinary execution, and exceptional standards – but also for daily operations and leading her team in all aspects of running the local restaurant.

The Kitchen allows Natasha to practice her passion for all things culinary as she not only serves up delicious food, but also continues to work as an educator. A leader in culinary education, Natasha shares her knowledge by teaching cooking classes at The Kitchen with fellow food lovers.
